Kristina Montesano
That's Kristina with a 'K.'
Kristina Montesano is a 25-year-old writer with a Bachelor's Degree in Writing from the College of Staten Island, and a minor in English Literature. She has experience tutoring, and doing supplemental instruction for, college-level English. Kristina writes fiction, as well as creative nonfiction, under the pseudonym Remy Winters. This is mostly due to save her family from the sheer mortification of their shenanigans being broadcast on the Internet. Oops. She has completed her first novel and is in the agonizingly stressful phase of editing it to her standards. The opening of the novel, Piper's Dawn, can be read here. A second novel is currently in the works. She also has a profanity-ridden blog, Absolutely Curtains, which is less editorial and more writing-for-catharsis.
Credentials... With a 'C'
She has also worked with writer, comedian, and cheatingly-brilliant satirist Jeff Kreisler as the Authorized Company Representative (ACR) for his one-man show, Get Rich Cheating, at the 2010 NYC Fringe Festival; in addition, she served as a research assistant for Lee "Rude Pundit" Papa's book, The Rude Pundit's Almanack. Montesano has also worked as ACR and stage manager for Papa's Fringe Festival play, Heterosexuals.
Hobbies, Interests, Hopes, Fears
Aside from writing to her heart's content, Kristina enjoys nothing more than making people laugh. She attempts to stitch pieces of humor into everything she writes; otherwise, she believes, reading would become incredibly dull. Kristina hopes to soon finish editing her first novel so it can then be published. She is diligently working on her second, and continues to try and bring her A-game to Suite101, where her editorial voice has been getting a bit louder. Kristina used to be terrified of clowns, but is now afraid that the conservatives will take over everything, therefore eradicating fun from the world. Her preferred topics of writing include pop culture icons and references; philosophy, existentialism, and humanity. Her escape is watching her favorite football (soccer to Americans) team, FC Barcelona. She hopes to one day meet, and faint in front of, Gerard Piqué.
